Protection of life and personal liberty
No person can be deprived of their life or personal liberty except according to a procedure established by law.

Right to life
This includes the right to live with dignity, the right to livelihood, and the right to a healthy environment.

Right to health
Through various judgments, the right to health has been brought under the wide ambit of Article 21. This imposes a duty on the state to ensure that no person is deprived of their right to health except in a situation that law demands.

Article 21 is considered one of the most important provisions of the Constitution as it deals with the fundamental rights of personal liberty and right to life.
