⚖️ NHRC ने लिया Suo Motu Cognizance
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India ने मीडिया रिपोर्ट का संज्ञान लेते हुए Malda Medical College & Hospital, West Bengal में अगस्त 2026 के पहले तीन सप्ताह के दौरान कम-से-कम 60 नवजातों की मौत के मामले में suo motu कार्रवाई शुरू की है।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, एक ही दिन में 10 नवजातों की मौत हुई।

NHRC ने प्रथम दृष्टया माना कि यदि मीडिया रिपोर्ट के तथ्य सही हैं, तो यह मानवाधिकारों के गंभीर उल्लंघन का प्रश्न उठा सकता है।

इसी कारण NHRC ने West Bengal Chief Secretary को नोटिस जारी कर दो सप्ताह के भीतर विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मांगी है।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, मृत 60 नवजातों में से 44 को उनकी हालत बिगड़ने के बाद अन्य चिकित्सा संस्थानों से रेफर किया गया था।

क्या इन मौतों को केवल “मेडिकल कॉम्प्लिकेशन” कहकर छोड़ दिया जाएगा?

या फिर यह पता लगाया जाएगा कि—

क्या अस्पताल में पर्याप्त NICU सुविधाएं थीं?
क्या आवश्यक डॉक्टर एवं मेडिकल स्टाफ उपलब्ध थे?
क्या समय पर रेफरल और उपचार हुआ?
क्या संक्रमण नियंत्रण की व्यवस्था पर्याप्त थी?
क्या किसी प्रकार की प्रशासनिक या चिकित्सा लापरवाही हुई?
और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण—इन नवजातों की मौत के वास्तविक कारण क्या थे?
इन सवालों का जवाब निष्पक्ष, पारदर्शी और तथ्यात्मक जांच से ही सामने आना चाहिए।

नवजातों का जीवन केवल एक आंकड़ा नहीं है—यह संविधान के तहत जीवन और गरिमा के अधिकार से जुड़ा प्रश्न है।
